POSITION TITLE: Accountant
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: We want to strengthen our accounting team with an individual who values company objectives of education, teamwork and professional development. A successful candidate will be comfortable working at a fast pace with an ability to juggle priorities; possess a confident understanding of general accounting duties including review and reconciliation of accounting records; have a commitment for accuracy, meeting deadlines and getting the job done; the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively; and display excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, QuickBooks and the ability to understand financial applications is essential. Candidates should be able to work independently, research accounting issues, handle several projects at once and maintain strict confidentiality of company information.
Specific financial responsibilities may include: maintaining financial records in QuickBooks, preparing general ledger entries, reconciling accounts, assistance in compilation of monthly financial data, creating analysis of monthly budgets vs. actual, manage billings and collections, manage accounts payable, reconcile banking transactions, create ad hoc financial reports as needed, and ensuring that strong policies and procedures related to accounting are in place and adhered to. This position may integrate with some HR responsibilities including input into human resource policies, maintaining required employee data and administering payroll benefits. Responsibilities will also include other tasks as they arise.
A bachelor's degree in accounting is required; experience with accounting, payroll, HR and compliance processes and systems is preferred. This position is based in Heber City, UT.
