Responsible for performing professional accounting functions that support the financial integrity, reporting accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational effectiveness of South Central Regional Medical Center and affiliated entities. Exercises independent judgment in financial analysis, reconciliation, reporting, and accounting activities in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), FASB, GASB, healthcare accounting standards, and SCRMC policies. The Accountant is responsible for providing professional accounting services for a large integratedhealthcare system. This position assists with general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, financial reporting, budgeting support, internal controls, fixed asset accounting, audit preparation, and regulatory reporting. The Accountant works collaboratively with the Controller, finance staff, and operational leaders to ensure accurate financial information is available to support operational and strategic decision-making.
