This includes diagnosing issues, preventative maintenance, repairs, disassembly and re-assembly, and writing detailed work notes.TechnicalMaintain proficiency in the diagnosis and repair of all assigned equipment.Maintain proficiency in the rebuilding of major components on assigned equipment.Ensure accurate diagnosis and the effective repair and/or replacement of components necessary for the proper functioning of assigned equipment.Perform Service calls for emergency breakdowns.AdministrativeInteract effectively, courteously, professionally with customers, vendors, and other employees regarding vehicle repairs and other shop business.Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.Communicates with service advisor/dispatcher immediately on repair updates and or delays.Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.Supervises work of any apprentice technicians as assigned.Health, and SafetyReports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.Ensures that vehicle is kept clean. Notifies service advisor/dispatcher immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received.Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc. Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.Operates all tools/equipment in a safe manner and reports any safety issues immediately to management.Make building and facility repairs as requested.Perform other maintenance duties or assignments as requested.Skills and QualificationsTwo to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Basic computer skillsHigh School Diploma- College or Technical training preferred, but not requiredValid CDL License a plus, recommended within 1 year of hiring.Customer Focus - Building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutionsInstills Trust - Gaining the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticityCommunicates Effectively - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiencesAction oriented - Taking on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasmDecision quality - Making good and timely decisions that keep the organization moving forwardWe are a network of commercial truck dealerships committed to providing the best products and services through highly skilled associates who are focused on delivering the lowest life-cycle cost to our customers.
