    Assistant Coach I, Men's Tennis

    Student and Campus Life (SCL) inspires transformation in all Cornell students on their journey of individual, academic and personal evolution. Our division is comprised of leading student affairs experts who support our campus on pressing student life matters including public service, health, wellness, social justice, residential living, food services, sports, recreation, career services, and student activities and organizations including sorority and fraternity life. We provide support and services to roughly 25,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students on multiple campuses in the U.S. and abroad.     The Assistant Coach for Men's Tennis assists the Head Coach in the planning and operation of the Men's Tennis program at Cornell University. This includes assisting with team practice and competitions, providing input on player evaluation, making recommendations to the head coach regarding individual participation, and providing administrative support to the head coach. The Assistant Coach also has both on- and off-campus recruiting responsibilities, to identify, encourage, and evaluate application and acceptance of student athletes at Cornell in accordance with the Ivy League, NCAA and University policies as assigned by the head coach.

    Success Factors

    • Expertise in demonstrating a variety of strength, agility, speed, and conditioning exercises, drills and techniques with student athletes across several sports programs.
    • The ability to manage multiple competing priorities and anticipate needs of a program.
    • Effective interpersonal and customer service skills to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing with a variety of constituents and be poised to serve as a good steward of the university.

    Required Qualifications

    • A Bachelor's degree and up to 1 year relevant experience or equivalent combination.
    • Credentials should reflect proven success in coaching, recruiting, and working with student athletes.
    • Knowledgeable of NCAA rules and regulations.
    • Must be highly motivated with an outstanding work ethic and a relentless recruiter.
    • Coaching and successful recruiting experience.
    • Experience modeling values that support inclusion, belonging, and wellbeing.
    • Ability to advocate for individuals from a broad range of backgrounds.
    • Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • College coaching and playing experience.
