Description

Job Title: Automation & Controls Technician II

Location: Environmentally controlled manufacturing facility (not remote) in Duncan, SC

About the Role: Our manufacturing client is looking to add an Automation & Controls Technician II to support modern, automated production equipment. This role is ideal for a hands-on technician who enjoys troubleshooting complex machines, working with PLC-controlled systems, and gaining exposure to advanced automation technologies.

Schedule and Pay

• $38/hr - $43/hr Depending on Experience

What You'll Do
  • Diagnosing and repairing automated manufacturing equipment
  • Connecting to PLCs to identify faults and restore machine operation
  • Installing and wiring new machines, automation cells, and production lines
  • Supporting machine upgrades, retrofits, and system improvements
  • Working with sensors, safety devices, vision systems, and laser scanners
  • Reading electrical schematics, ladder logic, and technical documentation
  • Collaborating with maintenance teams, engineers, and outside vendors
  • Assisting with equipment startups, relocations, and commissioning
  • Following all safety, quality, and environmental standards
What You Bring
  • Associate's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, Industrial Automation, or related field
  • 3-6 years of experience working with automated or PLC-controlled equipment
  • Ability to connect to and troubleshoot PLC programs
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Comfortable reading schematics and technical manuals
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office); PLC software experience is a plus
