The Aviation Planner will work on a range of projects across the country. They will conduct complex studies and/or analysis and develop plans to effectively implement capital projects related to asset/facility utilization, land use and/or transportation initiatives, andother airport planning requirements consistent with business objectives. The Aviation Planner demonstrates an understanding of the broader business context and the local and regional implications of planning decisions affecting airports. Specific projects will involve, but are not limited to applying FAA design criteria, CAD/GIS (including ALPs), airfield planning, landside planning, facility requirements development, and/or project or program management support.
The candidate should have experience in airport master planning, airfield planning, and Airport Layout Plan (ALP) development with knowledge and experience with FAA guidelines. A minimum of five years of relevant experience is required. Seven or more years of experience is preferred.
Essential Function(s) of the Position:
Education and Experience: Four-year college degree required. A degree in aviation planning, transportation planning, urban planning, transportation engineering, aviation management, engineering, quantitative analysis, math, computer science, or public administration is most appropriate. Master's degree is desirable. Proficiency in CAD, Revit, and/or GIS software is required. Airport master planning, airfield planning, and Airport Layout Plan (ALP) development with knowledge and experience with FAA guidelines and is desirable. A minimum of five years of relevant experience is required. Seven or more years of experience is preferred.
Licensing/Certifications: Valid Driver's License. FAA SMS and airfield/airspace planning course experience preferred
