Luxury Retail Store Manager Jobot
- $70,000–$80,000 Per Year
håndværk is a specialist label based in New York, making modern essentials from the finest natural materials — Peruvian pima cotton, alpaca fiber, and fabrics chosen for how they perform over years, not seasons. Our approach is simple: better, not more. We hold ourselves to exacting standards of craft and sustainability, and we design spaces the same way we design clothing — considered, quiet, built to last. Our Madison Avenue boutique reflects that same philosophy: a warm, minimalist space designed by our co-founder and Creative Director, meant to feel calm and unhurried, inviting clients to slow down and discover the collection at their own pace. The RoleWe're looking for a Boutique Manager to lead our Madison Avenue store — someone ready to take the step from Assistant Store Manager into their first Boutique Manager position, at a house with a comparable clientele and standard of craft. You'll own the day-to-day of the boutique: clienteling, staffing, visual standards, and the overall client experience, with real autonomy over how the store runs. This is a hands-on, single-door role — not a layer of management removed from the floor, but the person who sets the tone for it.What\'s expected of youSales performance is the core measure of this role. You will carry your own sales targets and be accountable for the store's overall performance against them — this is not a purely custodial management position, and we want to be direct about that up front. Expect to spend meaningful time on the floor selling and clienteling personally, not only overseeing others.Clienteling is a discipline, not an afterthought. You'll be expected to build and maintain a serious client book — proactive outreach, appointment-based selling, and long-term relationship building with repeat clients, not just conversion of walk-in traffic. You'll lead by example on the floor— coaching the team's selling technique, product knowledge, and follow-up, and holding them to the same sales standard you carry yourself.Store operations support the sales mission, not the other way around.Scheduling, inventory accuracy, and visual merchandising all exist to protect the client experience and drive sell-through — you'll own these, but they're the means, not the end. You'll be measured on results.Sales against target, clienteling activity, and team performance are reviewed regularly, and comfort with being evaluated this way is essential. This role is a strong fit if you Are currently an Assistant Store Manager (or equivalent) at a comparable luxury or premium brand, ready to step into your first Boutique Manager titleHave 2–4+ years in luxury retail specifically — brands such as Loro Piana, Brunello Cucinelli, Zegna, The Row, Sunspel, or similar in price point and clienteleHave real experience clienteling and building repeat relationships, not just closing walk-in salesUnderstand the rhythm of an Upper East Side/Madison Avenue clientele, and carry yourself accordingly — quiet confidence over hard sellCan run a store\'s operational basics — scheduling, inventory, visual merchandising standards — without needing to be taught the fundamentalsThis role is not the right fit if you\'re Coming from mass-market or department-store retail without direct luxury experienceAlready a Store Director, General Manager, or multi-door manager looking for a lateral move — this role is sized for someone stepping up, not stepping sidewaysLooking for a purely commission-driven sales floor role without operational ownershipWe\'re being specific about this because fit matters more than volume of applicants — please only apply if the above genuinely describes your background.Compensation: $75,000–$90,000, inclusive of commission, based on experience.#J-18808-Ljbffr
