Act as first level supervisor, assisting all Tellers with job-related questions and coordination of all sales-related actions. Ensure teller staff is operating in compliance with Bank policies and procedures. Coach and mentor Teller staff in building relationships through referrals and cross‑selling Bank products and services.Responsibilities Assist all staff with job‑related questions, ensuring compliance with Bank policies and procedures.Partner with Assistant Manager and Branch Manager, assuming authority in their absence to ensure daily operations are sound and compliant with laws and regulations.Monitor and approve customer transactions, manage the teller area, schedule and staff employees appropriately, complete daily proofing and review reports for Compliance and BSA purposes.Enforce dual control procedures, overseeing branch cash, vault, teller cash management, and cash shipments.Monitor non‑deposit product procedures (wealth management, retirement planning) for compliance.Complete periodic internal branch audits.Ensure all branch security procedures are followed during opening and closing.Maintain knowledge of all products and services to answer staff and customer questions.Train and develop staff toward procedural compliance, goal achievement, and exceptional customer service.Coach and mentor staff in building relationships through referrals and cross‑selling Bank products and services.Actively participate in performance management, completing evaluations and addressing issues.Partner with Human Resources to manage hiring, training, and retention.Cross‑train in all positions within the branch and perform operative duties during peak periods.Lead by example by modeling appropriate sales techniques to staff.Consistently cross‑sell and refer bank products and services to contribute to deposit, loan, fee, and investment growth.Execute sales opportunities by suggesting products based on customer needs and referring to appropriate representatives.Assist in customer outreach by managing outbound calls to educate customers on additional products.Proactively retain and grow the current customer base through efficient operations and exceptional service.Maintain clear and open communication between branch management and staff.Promote Northfield Bank in the communities through events and organization participation.Demonstrate professionalism by maintaining a positive and respectful demeanor in challenging situations.Wear professional work attire as per HR manual guidelines.Maintain satisfactory attendance, minimizing unscheduled absences and arriving on time.Other May require occasional travel for business meetings or training.Assignment to a specific branch is based on business need. The bank may transfer an employee to another branch at any time.Job Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent required.Two‑year college degree or 2+ years banking experience, including supervisory experience.Proficient with all Teller‑related functions, including cross‑selling bank products (1+ year required, 2+ preferred).Good interpersonal and problem solving skills (1+ year required, 2+ preferred).Good computer skills (1+ year required, 2+ preferred).Ability to multi‑task effectively (1+ year required, 2+ preferred).Supervision of staff (1+ year required, 2+ preferred).Operating an adding machine required.Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.Ability to lift and transfer coin bag (approx. 30 lbs.)Northfield Bank is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
