This position is responsible for educating guests on cannabis products, making personalized recommendations, processing transactions, maintaining compliance with New York State Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) regulations, and ensuring every customer leaves feeling confident in their purchase.The ideal candidate combines outstanding hospitality with a strong understanding of cannabis products, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.Essential ResponsibilitiesGuest ExperienceWelcome every guest with professionalism, warmth, and exceptional hospitality.Build meaningful relationships with guests through personalized service and product education.Create a premium retail experience that reflects Hypotency's Cannabis luxury brand standards.Understand each guest's preferences and recommend products that align with their desired experience while remaining compliant with New York State regulations.Provide accurate information about cannabis products, including flower, pre-rolls, vaporizers, concentrates, edibles, tinctures, topicals, and accessories.Educate guests on product potency, terpene profiles, cannabinoid content, consumption methods, onset times, and responsible cannabis use.Ensure guests understand product options without providing medical advice.Sales & Product KnowledgeBuild strong product knowledge through continuous education and vendor training.Drive sales through thoughtful recommendations, upselling, and cross-selling while focusing on the guest's needs.Promote loyalty program enrollment, promotions, and featured products.Maintain current knowledge of new product launches and seasonal offerings.Support vendor education events and participate in ongoing product training.ComplianceVerify guest identification and eligibility according to New York State Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) regulations.Ensure all transactions comply with purchase limits, age verification requirements, and state regulations.Maintain confidentiality of guest information.Follow all company SOPs regarding cannabis sales, security, inventory handling, and customer interactions.Immediately report compliance concerns, security issues, or suspicious activity to management.Retail OperationsOperate POS systems accurately while processing customer transactions.Handle cash, debit, and electronic payments while maintaining drawer accuracy.Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked sales floor.Restock products and merchandise displays throughout the day.Assist with inventory counts, product receiving, and inventory organization as needed.Support opening and closing procedures.Work collaboratively with Receptionists, Inventory Associates, and leadership to ensure smooth daily operations.TeamworkFoster a positive, respectful, and collaborative work environment.Support teammates during busy periods to maintain excellent customer service.Participate in ongoing education, coaching, and professional development.Represent the Hypotency Cannabis brand with integrity, professionalism, and enthusiasm.QualificationsRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Previous experience in retail, hospitality, luxury retail, customer service, or cannabis preferred.Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.Passion for cannabis education and customer service.Ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail environment.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Comfortable working with POS systems and retail technology.Ability to maintain professionalism and discretion.Must meet all eligibility requirements to work within the New York State cannabis industry.Preferred QualificationsPrevious cannabis dispensary experience.Knowledge of cannabis strains, cannabinoids, terpenes, consumption methods, and product categories.Experience with Metrc or cannabis POS systems.Luxury retail, hospitality, or concierge experience.Previous sales experience with demonstrated ability to build customer relationships and exceed sales goals.Physical Requirements & Work EnvironmentAbility to remain in a stationary position or move throughout the dispensary as needed during scheduled shifts.Ability to move throughout the sales floor to assist guests, restock products, and perform the essential functions of the position.Ability to frequently lift, move, or carry products and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.Ability to bend, reach, squat, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday.Ability to operate computers, tablets, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and other retail technology.Ability to communicate effectively with guests, coworkers, vendors, and management in person, by phone, and electronically.Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment while maintaining professionalism, product knowledge, and attention to detail.Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.Ability to perform
