Seeking a detail-oriented CAD Designer for a contract to hire opportunity working at our client location in Coldwater, Michigan who specializes in the design and manufacturing of ramp systems.

This role is responsible for creating accurate, production-ready drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, supporting both custom and standard ramp designs for residential and commercial applications. Salary range $46k-$50K. Hours will be M-F, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Key Responsibilities for Cad Designer position:
-Design wheelchair ramps, platforms, and stairs using CAD
-Produce detailed shop drawings, layouts, and installation plans
-Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production to ensure accuracy and feasibility
-Revise designs based on site conditions, client needs, and code requirements
-Translate field measurements, photos, and specs into precise drawings
-Ensure compliance with ADA and local building codes
-Maintain organized drawing files and documentation
-Coordinate with subcontractors and building departments for permits

Qualifications for the CAD Designer:
-One year of experience required, schooling can be considered
-Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD (required)
-Strong understanding of dimensions, tolerances, and materials
-Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
-Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
-Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Skills:
-Knowledge of ADA accessibility guidelines
-Experience in structural, construction, or ramp system design preferred
-Experience with custom fabrication or modular systems
-Familiarity with manufacturing processes
-Experience in Leadership
