New lifeguards only - Reimbursement of cost of American Red Cross training materials if certificate obtained and hired as a Casitas Waterpark lifeguard. Paid for the 40 hours of training, if hired.
Returning lifeguards only - Start at hourly rate of $21.22.
Casitas Lake Recreation Area offers some of the most competitive pay in Ventura County for lifeguards.
Definition:
Under direct supervision of the Aquatics Coordinator the Lifeguard is responsible for the safety of patrons within the Casitas Water Adventure facility. The Lifeguard should have a strong sense of commitment, professionalism, and be able to work under stress with a team. This is a temporary seasonal position in which the employee will be assigned tasks related to customer and employee safety, customer service, daily maintenance and other assigned tasks. Temporary employees are subject to termination after the summer season unless transferred to another department at the discretion of the Park Services Manager. Casitas Water Adventure is typically open from May through September.
Certifications to be obtained are as follows:
Casitas Water Adventure staff conduct at least four American Red Cross Lifeguard training sessions every season in preparation for the Summer season. Applicants for this position, or anyone from the public eligible to participate may do so by signing up for one of the sessions or email CWA@casitaswater.com for training dates and information. The cost of training in 2026 is $60 paid directly to the American Red Cross; Casitas covers the cost of training materials and instructor time.
