    The Resource Teacher must be able to perform the attached essential job functions and satisfactorily demonstrate the competencies for certified staff.

    Requirements:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Special Education
    • Hold and maintain current Indiana licensure for mild disabilities
    • Possess a basic knowledge of special education laws and regulations and can follow developed procedures.


    PRIMARY FUNCTION:

    Provides special education services to students with special needs across school settings.
    Services may be provided in the special education resource classroom or through a co-teaching model in the general education classroom.

    Responsibilities:
    1. Develop and implement IEPs specific to student needs.
    2. Facilitate case conferences for all students on the assigned caseload.
    3. Conducts one-on-one or small group activities for academic and/or behavioral purposes for students with disabilities.
    4. Develop lesson plans in alignment with student IEP goals.
    5. Update and provide data-based quarterly progress reports
    6. Mentor and train classroom and 1:1 paraprofessionals
    7. Facilitate communication between all stakeholders
    8. Increase inclusionary practices for students with disabilities.
    9. Participate in all scheduled training throughout the school year.
    10. Follows and informs others of IDEA and Article 7 rules and regulations as well as Exceptional Education Department Procedures.
    11. Performs other duties as assigned
