Lake Forest Community High School District 115 is seeking a Community Education Swim Program (CESP) Director and Pool Manager for the 2026-2027 school year.DescriptionThe Community Education Swim Program Director/Pool Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, and administration of the District's aquatic facility; working collaboratively with the Athletic and Wellness Departments, pool staff, and community.Qualifications and RequirementsBachelor's DegreeMinimum of 3 years of experience in similar position - preferredAED/CPR CertificationAmerican Red Cross Lifeguard Certification in:Lifeguard InstructorProfessional Rescuer CPR/AED InstructorLifeguard TrainingCPRWater Safety InstructorExperience with office and school-based management systems - preferredEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOversees the safety and security of the pool and all programs that use the poolInitiates the hiring process for all non-certified staff at the pool in the CESPPublic Swim, High School, and CESP supervisors & lifeguardsLearn to Swim InstructorsAmerican Red Cross Water Instructors and Instructor TrainersCoordinates American Red Cross lifeguard training and CPR classesActs as Authorized Provider contact and Coordinator for the districtKeeps updated list of certified instructors on file with the Red CrossMaintains files and associated records for courses taughtOrders updated materials and equipment for classesSchedules lifeguards and shift managers for ALL pool programmingCoordinates emergency staffing needs due to lifeguard illness or absence for ALL shiftsHandles pool equipment upkeep and maintenanceOrdering and maintaining inventory of equipmentCoordinating daily, weekly, and annual repairs to the poolCompletes work orders with Buildings and Grounds related to pool events/repairsManages the pool maintenance listRecommends budget for the purchase of pool safety equipmentMaintains all equipment required by the State of Illinois and Lake County Health DepartmentTrains staff in the use and storage of all pool equipmentOversees the use and storage of all timing and scoreboard equipment used by aquatic programsEvaluates all non-certified staff that supervise, instruct, and lifeguard for the CESPManages timesheets of all supervisors, instructors, and lifeguards for the CESP as well as supervisors and lifeguards for High School ProgrammingMaintains communication, content, and printed materials regarding all CESP and pool programmingPress releases and community brochuresCoordinates content for aquatic center webpageReturns emails and phone calls to aquatic center in a timely mannerActs as liaison with all pool use group leaders and administratorsScouts Aquatics Swim ClubWellness Department Chair and facultyLake Forest HS Swim & Polo programsSpecial use requestsTrains and certifies all Wellness Department and Athletic staff in lifeguard and CPR/AED as neededPerforms other job related duties as assigned by direct supervisorAdheres to Board of Education policies and proceduresStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills and positive problem solving attitudeComfortable and pleasant demeanor in busy environmentsKnowledge of Illinois High School swimming and diving and water polo proceduresAbility to:Work under pressureWork with speed, attention to detail, consistency, and organizationPrioritize workflow while working with many individualsWork harmoniously, cooperatively, and effectively with all stakeholdersMeet deadlinesWork effectively in office and school-based management systemsLead and manage a teamMaintain confidentialityAdhere to Board of Education policies and proceduresPhysical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, reach, grasp, feel, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, pull, and lift.
