Description
We're looking for a seasoned Construction Estimator to join a growing commercial general contractor in NC, FL and TX. This is a chance to lead precon efforts on projects up to $15M across healthcare, financial, and light industrial sectors, working closely with trade partners, architects, and clients from the earliest stages of a project through award. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Prepare cost estimates and forecasts by reviewing drawings and specs, gathering data, and attending site visits ahead of submission deadlines
Build out full CSI division cost breakdowns along with written assumptions and clarifications
Factor in materials, labor, equipment, tools, and transportation when putting together estimates
Determine project resource needs based on cost estimates and budget constraints
Analyze project timelines and durations
Develop and publish complete bid packages for trade partners and vendors, including scopes of work, alternates, and allowances
Qualify and level trade partner and vendor bids for full scope coverage
Review costs internally and with clients to help close out successful project awards
Lead estimating on design bid build projects, including hard bids and GC plus fee work
Mentor interns, coordinators, and assistant estimators
Get involved with industry organizations like Associated Builders and Contractors
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
7+ years in commercial construction
Track record estimating projects up to $15M, ideally in healthcare, financial, or light industrial
Comfortable managing 2+ projects at once in a fast paced environment
Strong problem solving, communication, and time management skills
Proficient in estimation software, MS Office, and blueprint reading
Solid grasp of building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites and pre bid visits
