Certified Payroll & Prevailing Wage Coordinator
Location: Fully Remote
Pay Rate: Up to $30/hr + Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401(k) Match
Schedule: Standard Business Hours
Position Overview
We are seeking detail-oriented professionals to support Certified Payroll and Prevailing Wage operations in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate processing of payroll-related data, maintaining compliance with federal, state, and customer-specific requirements, and supporting ongoing process improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll, accounting, compliance, or administrative operations, combined with advanced Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to manage sensitive information with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Process and review daily payroll and prevailing wage reports.
- Analyze and validate data within Microsoft Excel to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Handle sensitive employee and compensation information while maintaining confidentiality.
- Submit required payroll and compliance documentation through customer and government portals.
- Investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, and ensure timely resolution.
- Support prevailing wage and certified payroll administration activities.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and customer-specific requirements.
- Monitor and process high-volume data with exceptional attention to detail.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve reporting, payroll, and compliance issues.
- Assist with process improvements, reporting enhancements, and operational initiatives.
- Utilize Microsoft Outlook and other business systems to manage communications and documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in payroll, accounting, accounts payable, compliance, finance, or related administrative functions.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, including formulas, data analysis, reconciliation, and data validation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex multi-step processes.
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
- Experience handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment.
- Ability to identify discrepancies and escalate issues appropriately.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Payroll experience.
- Prevailing Wage experience.
- Experience supporting government, construction, union, or compliance-regulated environments.
- Experience working with large data sets and reporting tools.
- Previous audit, compliance, or payroll reconciliation experience.
