This position serves as a key storyteller for the Foundation, creating high-impact content that highlights philanthropy's role in advancing cancer research, patient care, and innovation. The role collaborates closely with Foundation leadership and Moffitt's Strategic Communications and Strategic Marketing teams to ensure consistent messaging, brand alignment, and meaningful donor engagement across multiple channels. The position manages an annual communications calendar while identifying strategic opportunities to strengthen donor relationships and philanthropic support.**Position Responsibilities****Communications Planning and Strategic Messaging*** Develop and maintain a comprehensive communications calendar that supports Foundation priorities and fundraising initiatives.* Create targeted messaging for diverse audiences, including donors, patients, physicians, volunteers, board members, community partners, and employees.* Manage editorial calendars and recurring Foundation publications, newsletters, and donor communications.* Collaborate with Foundation leadership and organizational communications teams to ensure message consistency and brand alignment.* Develop leadership talking points, event messaging, and communications that support organizational priorities and fundraising campaigns.**Donor and Fundraising Communications*** Create compelling donor-centered content that communicates philanthropic impact and organizational priorities.* Develop annual giving appeals, stewardship communications, donor recognition materials, and fundraising collateral.* Partner with Foundation teams to create communication plans supporting fundraising campaigns and donor engagement initiatives.* Develop event-related communications, including invitations, sponsorship materials, event programs, and follow-up stewardship communications.* Support donor retention and cultivation efforts through strategic storytelling and engagement communications.**Content Development and Editorial Management*** Research, write, edit, and proofread a wide variety of communications, including newsletters, feature stories, donor publications, website content, marketing materials, and special projects.* Coordinate content production processes involving graphic design, photography, videography, print vendors, and digital publishing platforms.* Ensure all communications maintain the highest editorial standards for quality, accuracy, consistency, and professionalism.* Uphold organizational branding, style guidelines, and communications best practices across all deliverables.* Translate complex institutional initiatives into compelling, donor-focused narratives.**Storytelling and Content Curation*** Identify, research, and develop stories that showcase philanthropic impact, fundraising success, patient stories, research advancements, and organizational achievements.* Conduct interviews with donors, physicians, researchers, patients, Foundation leaders, and community supporters.* Curate and maintain a library of communications assets, including stories, photography, videos, testimonials, publications, and marketing materials.* Identify emerging opportunities to enhance donor awareness, engagement, and stewardship through strategic storytelling.* Ensure communications assets are properly archived and maintained in accordance with organizational standards.**Project Management and Collaboration*** Manage communications projects from concept through execution, coordinating stakeholders, timelines, deliverables, and external vendors.* Build strong partnerships with Foundation leadership, clinical teams, Marketing, Strategic Communications, and community stakeholders.* Provide communications guidance and support to Foundation teams regarding messaging standards and content development.* Participate in committees, editorial boards, and cross-functional initiatives that support Foundation objectives.* Support additional Foundation communications needs as assigned.**Credentials and Qualifications****Minimum Qualifications*** Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Fundraising, Marketing, or a related field.* Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in communications, public relations, marketing, fundraising, development, or a related field.* Demonstrated understanding of communication principles and best practices for donor, patient, and stakeholder audiences.* Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.* Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.* Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with stakeholders at all organizational levels.* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.* Strong attention to detail, creativity, editorial judgment, and commitment to producing high-quality communications.* Demonstrated affinity for and commitment to Moffitt Cancer Center's mission.**Preferred Qualifications*** Master's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Fundraising, Marketing, or a related field.* Experience in development writing, donor relations, fundraising communications, or stewardship communications.* Experience with Canva or similar design platforms.* Experience using fundraising databases and CRM systems such as Raiser's Edge.* Experience using project management platforms and tools.**Salary Range**$64,919.40 - $99,031.40*Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role.
