Part-time Dining Room Aide

The Lancaster County Career and Technology Center has an immediate vacancy for a Part-time Dining Room Aide at the Mount Joy Campus. Come join our team and be a part of something great by preparing people for skilled, innovative and productive careers!

Job Summary: The Dining Room Aide is responsible for assisting students with the overall function of the dining room.

Essential Responsibilities/Skills/Functions:

• Operations
• • Assist students with dining room set up
  • Ensure students are providing outstanding customer service and a warm, welcoming environment at all times
  • Scheduling student rosters for rotation of duties
  • Confirm students are maintaining cleanliness and tidiness of the restaurant and surrounding areas
  • Support and monitor student performance and provide feedback where necessary
  • Ensure students are adhering to all health and safety requirements, including food hygiene and regulations
  • Oversee students with taking orders, serving meals and clearing tables
  • Liaising with the kitchen staff to ensure an efficient and seamless service
  • Collaborate with Culinary Facilitator and Instructional Staff on a consistent basis
  • Assist students with managing walk-in, online, and telephone reservations
  • Assist students with greeting all guests formally upon arrival and escorting them to the table
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook
• Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service attitude
• Prior experience working with students preferred

Salary: Starting at $17.00/ hour, based on experience

Schedule: 15 hours/week, approximately 90 days per year (September through mid-May during open restaurant hours)
