Provide direct care to shelter residents, including assistance with daily living activities, wound care, and incontinence care.
Conduct health assessments, offer health education, and determine if advanced medical care is needed.
Assist clients in replacing medications, medical equipment, and supplies.
Advocate for clients' healthcare needs in collaboration with the Disaster Health Services supervisor.
Support maternal and child health needs when necessary.
Complete a combination of self-paced and instructor-led training (approximately 9 hours).

Time Commitment
Monthly: Approximately 4 hours.
During disaster relief operations: Increased availability for shifts (8-12 hours on consecutive days).
Who Can Apply?
We're looking for individuals who:
Hold a current, unencumbered license in one of the following professions:
Registered Nurse (RN)
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)*
Paramedic*
Medical Doctor (MD)
Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)
Physician Assistant (PA)
Nurse Practitioner (NP)
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
Are at least 18 years old.
Possess a valid driver's license (required for divisional and national deployments).
Are willing to volunteer in person at disaster shelters before, during, or after disaster events.
Can follow verbal and written instructions in English.
Are available to comply with Red Cross COVID-19 policies.
