    Description

    Must be able to remove and replace wallpaper as needed.

    Performs skilled painting jobs on furniture, buildings and other areas within and/or around the hotel property.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Typically requires a high school diploma and 0 to 5 years of experience.
    • Performs work under direct supervision.
    • Handles basic issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
    • Possesses beginning to working knowledge of subject matter.
    • Oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to understand and follow directions.
    • Manual dexterity.
    • Ability to lift/move heavy objects.
    • Physical stamina.
    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Cleans and maintains brushes and other tools utilized after every painting job.
    • Effectively mixes and matches various types of paint.
    • Demonstrates appropriate usage of paint brushes, thinner and other tools and equipment.
    • Inspects the walls and deciding upon the number of paint coats that will be required.
    • Maintains quality and standards of work.
    • Applies paint, stain, varnish, enamel, and other finishes to equipment, buildings, and/or other structures, using brushes, spray guns, or rollers.
    • Applies primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces, such as bare wood or metal, for finish coats.
    • Mixes and matches colors of paint, stain, or varnish with oil and thinning and drying additives in order to obtain desired colors and consistencies.
    • Fills nail holes, joints, and cracks in walls with plaster or other filler.
    • Covers surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape and removes fixtures such as pictures, door knobs, lamps, and electric switch covers prior to painting.
    • Calculates amounts of required materials and estimate costs, based on surface measurements and/or work orders.
    • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
    • Requisitions new painting supplies and equipment.
