Heavy Equipment CDL Driver (Class A)

**Pay: **Based on experience · Overtime after 40 hours · On-call rotation with additional pay Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM Home daily. Local routes — no over-the-road, no nights away.

EquipmentShare is hiring a Heavy Equipment Delivery Driver and we’re looking for someone who’s ready to grow with us, bring energy and drive to their work, and help us build the future of construction.

This is a heavy haul job. You'll run local routes out of our Salt Lake City, UT rental facility, hauling excavators, dozers, loaders, and aerial lifts to active job sites — loading, chaining, and securing your own loads. Our T3 platform gives you live fleet locations, work orders, and delivery details, so you know what you're picking up and where it's going before you leave the yard.

What You'll Do

• Haul heavy equipment — excavators, dozers, loaders, aerial lifts — to and from customer job sites on local routes

• Load and unload equipment independently; chain, bind, and secure loads to FMCSA cargo securement standards

• Verify loads meet weight, width, height, and clearance limits for the assigned route

• Assess job site access and unload conditions on arrival, including grade, overhead clearance, and turnaround space

• Operate the vehicle in accordance with all applicable state and federal transportation laws, including DOT hours-of-service requirements

• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections; check fluid levels and report maintenance issues promptly

• Complete delivery documentation and status updates through T3 on a tablet

• Communicate with dispatch and site contacts on delivery windows, delays, and access issues

• Work with customers and site personnel professionally at every delivery point

What You Need

• Class A CDL with an acceptable driving record

• Experience hauling heavy equipment or heavy haul freight

• Ability to chain, bind, and secure equipment independently without a loading crew

• Comfortable operating equipment on and off trailers

• Must pass a DOT physical (vehicles over 10,000 lbs)

• Must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state DOT regulations

• Must be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicles

Nice to Have

• Lowboy or RGN experience

• Tanker or doubles/triples endorsements

• Prior equipment rental or construction industry experience

Conditions of Employment

• Prolonged periods seated in the cab
