    Job Description

    A services organization in Seattle, Washington is seeking a new Drone Operator in Seattle, WA, to support safe and efficient drone flight operations. This role focuses on mission planning, aircraft readiness, airspace coordination, and compliance with flight and safety procedures.

    About the Opportunity:

    • Shift: Day shift
    • Schedule: Variable weekdays and weekends
    • Hours: Standard business with overtime as needed
    • Setting: Field-based
    Responsibilities:
    • Perform morning paperwork and pre-flight aircraft worthiness checks.
    • Operate drones safely and in accordance with mission requirements.
    • Designate the operating area and confirm mission specifics for each location.
    • Support mission planning, including LAANC, NOTAM, METAR, and related airspace review.
    • Follow safety procedures, communicate concerns, and coordinate with team members on site.
    Qualifications:
    • Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
    • At least 2 years of remote-control pilot experience with strong coordination and execution skills
    • Experience leading small teams
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on some occasions and stand or walk for up to 8-10 hours with breaks
    • Ability to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
    • Ability to work in volatile weather conditions within established safety thresholds
    • Ability to drive to offsite work locations daily
    • Ability to work variable shifts and schedules, including weekends when applicable
    • Overtime may be required based on work assignment
    Desired Skills:
    • Experience with commercial UAS operations
    • Aviation safety experience in a Safety Officer or similar role
    • Strong business communication and reporting skills
    • Experience with remote controller flying, FPV racing drones, fixed-wing aircraft, or manned aviation
    • Familiarity with reading METARs, TAFs, and airspace maps
    • Experience using FAA-approved applications for LAANC submissions
