    Job Description

Job Title: Senior Electrical Systems Designer (BIM/CAD)

    Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Systems Designer to take a lead role in the development of complex electrical infrastructure and power distribution systems. You will be responsible for translating engineering concepts into high-precision construction documents, using a blend of 2D drafting and 3D modeling to ensure constructability and accuracy.
This is a senior-level position for a designer who is ready to take ownership of project deliverables. You will be the technical lead for your design team, coordinating with engineers and cross-disciplinary leads to ensure that our projects remain on schedule, within scope, and aligned with the highest standards of electrical design. If you are a Revit/AutoCAD expert who enjoys technical challenges and mentoring junior staff, this is an excellent opportunity to make a lasting impact.

    Key Responsibilities
    Technical Design & Modeling
    • Project Documentation: Lead the creation of detailed electrical designs, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and communications systems for complex infrastructure projects.
    • BIM/CAD Mastery: Develop and maintain accurate 2D layouts and 3D models using Revit MEP and AutoCAD. Ensure all deliverables meet project-specific quality and formatting standards.
    • Technical Integrity: Manage the production of complex drawing packages, ensuring that all designs are compliant with current electrical codes and project requirements.

    Project Leadership & Coordination
    • Coordination Lead: Act as the primary design point-of-contact for multidisciplinary project teams. Resolve design clashes and ensure electrical systems integrate seamlessly with mechanical, structural, and architectural components.
    • Project Governance: Assist leadership in developing staffing plans and tracking progress against project schedules. Take ownership of the budget and scope for your assigned work packages.
    • Mentorship: Provide hands-on technical guidance, training, and support to junior designers and drafters, fostering a culture of technical excellence.

    Qualifications & Requirements
    Minimum Qualifications
    • Experience Baseline: Minimum of eight (8) years of professional experience in electrical design, drafting, and 3D modeling.
    • Tooling Mastery: Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and at least one (1) year of dedicated, professional-grade Revit MEP design experience.
    • Systems Expertise: Solid understanding of power distribution, lighting systems, and communications infrastructure.
    • Communication: Exceptional ability to work within a collaborative, fast-paced environment and deliver complex project packages under deadline.

    Preferred Attributes
    • Associate degree in a technical or design-related field.
    • Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant industry design standards.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage project schedules, anticipate resource needs, and provide clear technical guidance to design teams.
