Job Description

Position Title: Electrical Engineer / Analyst (Power Infrastructure) Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer / Analyst located in Coeur d'Alene, ID (Hybrid Preferred, Remote Eligible). This role supports a high-visibility Energy & Transmission Program focused on power domain projects and grid infrastructure development. This position focuses directly on advising clients on grid analysis, utility purveyor engagements, renewable energy integration, and commercial agreement preparation. This is a collaborative engineering role for a subject matter expert (SME) who excels at bridging complex power distribution concepts with strategic business objectives. Working closely with client teams, project managers, and internal stakeholders, you will provide critical technical support, evaluate transmission strategies, and drive infrastructure projects from scoping through execution.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Act as a technical SME to support project and facility managers, identifying power infrastructure issues and engineering viable solutions.
  • Transmission & Strategy Studies: Perform or facilitate transmission planning studies and infrastructure design strategies that align with business goals while ensuring full compliance with state and federal policies.
  • Utility & Interconnection Engagement: Lead client engagements with electric utilities regarding feasibility studies, power topology design, and interconnection processes for both load and generation.
  • Project Scoping & Due Diligence: Scope power delivery projects, draft RFPs, develop rough order of magnitude (ROM) cost estimates, and support land/permit acquisitions and due diligence evaluations.
  • Simulation & Analytics: Analyze operational scenarios in simulated environments and collaborate with stakeholders to assemble data supporting client's SaaS platform tools.
  • Program Support: Assist with marketing efforts and cross-functional technical initiatives as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Experience: 8+ years of relevant experience in power delivery, grid topology, or utility-scale power projects.
  • Technical Tools: Proficiency in power systems tools (e.g., PowerWorld Simulator, ETAP-G, PLS-CADD, GIS) and standard office software.
  • Documentation: Ability to read and interpret construction documents, technical specifications, schematics, and RFPs.
  • Licensing: Valid driver's license.
  • Preferred Job Qualifications: Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license. Advanced Degree: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. Domain Expertise: Direct experience with entitlements support, renewable energy source reviews, and commercial power agreements.
