The Electrical Estimator is responsible for developing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial electrical projects. This role involves reviewing drawings and specifications, determining material and labor requirements, and preparing detailed proposals that support successful project execution. The Electrical Estimator works closely with project managers, engineers, and vendors to ensure bids are precise, competitive, and aligned with company standards.
Role Responsibilities
Must have solid understanding of estimation process.
Review project documents.
Identify scope of work.
Material, labor, and equipment takeoffs.
Walk difficult projects.
Identify and document difficult/ non-standard conditions.
Coordinate with Preconstruction Team to identify and fill scope gaps.
Clarify scope with General Contractor and Engineer.
Obtain quotes and coordinate/qualify scope with vendors and subcontractors.
Completely assemble the Bid Tab in a timely manner.
Provide value engineering ideas.
Verify estimate accuracy by comparing data versus similar bids.
File electronic documents.
Participate in turnover process to Operations.
Liaison between Estimating and Field Operations.
