    Electro-Mechanical Technician

    Role Summary

    Our company is seeking an experienced and skilled Electro-Mechanical Technician to join our team. The team member in this role will be responsible for overseeing the fabrication/assembly process, creatingand interpreting technical documentation, ensuring quality control standards are met, and managing the work of junior technicians. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, organized, and possess excellent problem-solving and communication skills

    Responsibilities

    • Oversee the fabrication/assembly process of electro-mechanical prototypes from start to finish, ensuring that all work is completed on time and to high-quality standards
    • Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics to determine fabrication/assembly requirements
    • Operate basic power tools to fabricate, cut, and shape various materials, such as metal, plastic, and wood
    • Manage a team of junior fabricators, providing guidance, training, and direction as needed
    • Ensure that all fabrication work meets quality control standards, and troubleshoot any mechanical or electrical issues that arise during the process
    • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure that all specifications and requirements are met
    • Maintain accurate records of materials, labor, and equipment used during the fabrication process
    • Comply with all safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment
    • Manage shipping and receiving for components and inspect parts for quality assurance

    Basic Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate's degree in welding, metal fabrication, or a related field preferred
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fabrication or a related field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
    • Extensive knowledge of fabrication techniques, equipment, and materials
    • Strong understanding of mechanical technical drawings and electrical schematics
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to manage a team of junior fabricators/technicians and provide guidance and direction as needed
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
    • Must be able to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods of time
    • Knowledge of safety regulations and ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment

    Preferred Skills & Experience

    • Technical Skills: You should have a strong technical background in metal fabrication or a related field, and be knowledgeable about fabrication techniques, materials, and equipment. You should have a strong background in troubleshooting electrical systems (actuators, sensors, PCBAs) for primarily DC systems.
    • Attention to Detail: You will be responsible for ensuring that all work meets quality control standards. This requires a high degree of attention to detail and the ability to identify and troubleshoot issues that arise during the fabrication process
    • Problem-Solving Skills: You should be able to analyze problems and find practical solutions to technical challenges. This requires a creative and resourceful approach to problem-solving, as well as the ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure
