Job DetailsLocation: Sandra Cisneros - Los Angeles, CA 90026Position Type: Part TimeEducation Level: See QualificationsSalary: $21.50 - $21.50 per hourJob Shift: 183 Student Service DaysJob Category: Non ExemptThe Opportunity Under the supervision of Expanded Learning Coordinators, the Expanded Learning One to One Program Aide supervises students individually during Expanded Learning Programming to establish a culture of educational excellence through a holistic approach to Expanded Learning programming. The program aide ensures student safety and compliance with school and CNCA policies and regulations.Essential Functions Create a safe and welcoming program culture for all students and staffSupervise students while they participate in Expanded Learning programming to ensure student safetyMonitor student behavior, deter and modify inappropriate student behaviors of a relatively minor nature and report serious infractions to school administrators for possible disciplinary actionLearn and safely implement approved techniques, such as CPI for restraining studentsProvide individual positive behavior intervention during expanded learning programs including prompting and/or redirecting students to participate in assigned tasks and activitiesReview and implement individualized behavioral plans for assigned student(s)Collaborate and communicate frequently with Expanded Learning Coordinators, Woodcraft Ranger Site Coordinators, and other stakeholdersAttend and participate in all relevant training sessions, meetings and professional growth activities as requested and/or requiredRespect the confidential nature of pupil records and school reportsShow patience, respect and compassion in working with studentsMaintain regular, punctual attendanceOther duties as assignedWork Period Schedule: 3:00-6:00 pm (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday) and Thursdays 12:30-6:00 pm. Additional days may be requested for professional development or other needs, with formal written notice from the Senior Director of Expanded Learning.Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferredAssociate's degree or a minimum of at least 48 semester units (60 quarter units) requiredBilingual Spanish/English preferred1-2 years' experience working in urban schools or in organizational operationsPrior experience working with students in special education in an academic or recreational setting preferredAbility to work independently and with a team in a fast‑paced environment requiredExcellent organizational, planning and implementation skillsStrong interpersonal skillsPositive energy and the ability to be a strong role model for studentsNon-Discrimination Statement Camino Nuevo Charter Academy (CNCA) prohibits discrimination, harassment, intimidation and bullying in educational programs, activities, or employment on the basis of actual or perceived ancestry, age, color, disability, gender, gender identity, gender expression, nationality, race or ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, parental, pregnancy, family or marital status, military status or association with a person or a group with one or more of these actual or perceived characteristics.
