The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the operating condition of all parish buildings, grounds, and equipment, ensuring that parish facilities remain safe, functional, clean, and welcoming. This position performs routine maintenance and minor repairs, utilizing a working knowledge of basic mechanical, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, and heating and cooling systems to carry out assignments effectively.
In addition, the Facilities Coordinator oversees groundskeeping operations, including the upkeep and appearance of the parish's outdoor areas, such as landscaping, irrigation, walkways, parking areas, and general exterior maintenance.
The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing contracted janitorial service providers and other facility-related vendors, ensuring effective coordination, performance management, and service quality. This includes monitoring the completion of janitorial and groundskeeping services to maintain the overall cleanliness, functionality, and presentation of parish property.
This position reports directly to the Director of Operations and operates with some latitude for independent judgment and initiative in planning, prioritizing, and carrying out assigned responsibilities while ensuring alignment with parish policies and operational needs.
The Pastor is the visible principle and foundation of unity in the Parish of St. Anthony's, which the Bishop has entrusted to him. He makes Christ's mission present and enduring in the parish. To fulfill his mission, the Pastor employs suitable collaborators (clerics, religious, or laypeople). He shares his mission with them and entrusts various responsibilities to them.
Positions employed at St. Anthony's help to extend the ministry of the Pastor in particular ways as outlined in the job description. Therefore, the employee in this position is closely connected to and assists the Pastor in the performance of his ministry, thereby engaging in ministry for the Church.
Education and Training:
· High School diploma or GED equivalent is required
Experience:
· Three to five years of experience working in facilities management
· Experience working within the Catholic community is preferred
Catholic Requirement:
· A practicing Roman Catholic in good standing is required
Licenses/Certifications:
· Valid Texas (Class C) driver's license
· Must maintain compliance with the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) policies
Working Conditions:
· All employees of the Parish are engaged in ministry and closely tied to the Pastor in the exercise of his ministry and obligations to the church.
· The Parish is an at-will employer.
· All buildings and vehicles owned by the Parish are tobacco-free.
· Working in a fast-paced environment with priorities and plans that may change rapidly.
· Working on weekends, evenings, and some holidays may be required.
· Will be exposed to religious ceremonies, conduct, and speech, including Roman Catholic Christian prayer and liturgical celebrations.
· Will be required to adhere to established dress codes and conduct standards.
· May be required to use personal or parish vehicle to drive to off-site locations.
· Traveling within and outside the parish to meetings and other events may be required, and travel may require overnight lodging.
