Located in the heart of historic downtown Wakefield, The Mews is a high-volume restaurant and bar known for exceptional food, outstanding service, and one of Rhode Island's best craft beer selections.We're looking for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys developing teams, and is passionate about creating memorable guest experiences.Position SummaryThe Front of House Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a busy, multi-area restaurant while leading and supporting front-of-house staff. This role focuses on staff development, scheduling, guest satisfaction, and operational excellence.The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, team builder, and problem solver with restaurant leadership experience and a commitment to delivering exceptional hospitality.Key ResponsibilitiesLead front-of-house operations during service and remain visible on the floor during peak business hoursFoster a guest-focused culture that consistently delivers exceptional serviceSupervise, coach, and develop front-of-house team membersCreate and manage employee schedulesAssist with training, onboarding, and continued staff developmentSupport employee engagement and team-building initiativesHelp coordinate promotions, events, and sales-driving programsMonitor and improve operational efficiency and workflowAddress guest concerns promptly and professionallyMaintain cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of the restaurantEnsure compliance with company policies and service standardsQualifications2+ years of restaurant management or supervisory experience preferredStrong leadership and team development skillsExcellent customer service and guest relations abilitiesExperience with staff scheduling and performance managementAbility to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication, problem-solving, and follow-up skillsExperience with restaurant POS systems preferredKnowledge of craft beer and the hospitality industry is a plusSelf-motivated, dependable, and results-orientedAvailability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidaysWe are willing to train the right candidate with strong leadership potential and hospitality experience.Compensation$60,000–$65,000 annual salary , depending on experienceAnnual performance and compensation reviewsPaid Time Off (PTO)Health InsuranceVision InsurancePaid TrainingEmployee food, beverage, and merchandise discountsProfessional growth and advancement opportunitiesPositive, team-oriented work environmentAbout The Mews TavernEstablished in 1947, The Mews Tavern has grown from a small fisherman's tavern into one of Rhode Island's most beloved restaurants and bars.
