OVERVIEW
The Shasta-Tehama-Trinity Joint Community College District (Shasta College) sits at the northern end of the Sacramento Valley, surrounded by mountains to the north, east, and west. The area provides a wide array of outdoor amenities and activities with miles of hiking and biking trails, national parks, two lakes, and the Sacramento River. The main campus is located in the city of Redding, population 90,000. The area is characterized by excellent schools with high graduation rates, low traffic, and low housing prices (Zillow average 393,000 vs. California state average of 770,000).

DESCRIPTION OF BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under administrative leadership, it is the responsibility of the full-time college instructor to teach classes and to participate in processes that will result in continuous improvement of instruction and programs, student success and completion, and advancement of the vision, mission, and values of Shasta College.
CLASSIFICATION: Placement on the current Faculty Salary Schedule is commensurate with previous education and experience.
START DATE: This position is anticipated to start the beginning of the Spring 2027 semester. May be expected to teach at the Main Campus in Redding, at the Tehama Campus in Red Bluff, and/or online.

It does not refer to the "Master of Fine Arts" (MFA) degree when that degree is based on specialization in performing arts or dance, film, creative writing or other non plastic arts.)
