Tetra Tech is looking for a full-time, Geotechnical Technician/Inspector. This position is based out of our Glen Mills, PA office, tied to our Northeast Operations.
The chosen candidate will perform construction inspections/testing for building construction projects, observe contractor's conformance to the plans and specifications, and conduct field reporting.

• Minimum education of a High School diploma or GED • 2 or more years of relevant experience in geotechnical inspections and testing during construction, including soil density testing using a nuclear density gauge, earthwork, undercutting of unsuitable soils, foundations, subgrade review, concrete testing, rebar inspections, pre-slab inspections, masonry inspections, structural steel bolted and welded connection inspections, cold-formed steel inspections, and road construction inspection and testing. • Geotechnical laboratory testing (soil and concrete), ACI certification for concrete testing, or able to obtain soon after employment. • Proficient in preparing field reports. • Nuclear Gauge Safety Training Certification, or able to obtain soon after employment. • Must have valid and current driver's license.
This position requires driving on a regular basis. Passing a motor vehicle record background check and maintaining a valid driver's license and good standing is required.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Capable of lifting and moving objects up to 40 pounds.
Work will be performed on construction job sites and travel between office and jobsite will be required on a daily basis. Valid drivers license is required. Work is primarily outdoors, and exposure to weather during all annual seasons will occur.
