Golf Course Maintenance

Catawba Island Club is a private, resort-style club that has been family owned and operated for over 50 years. Our location - directly on the beautiful Lake Erie shore - attracts families from across the mid-west. We are looking for golf course maintenance staff for the summer of 2026.

This position operates and cares for course maintenance equipment in addition to providing manicured landscaping areas around the entire CIC campus. Seasonal position available hours April-November.

Core responsibilities:

• Operate equipment used for various course maintenance needs safely such as mowers, hedgers, trimmers, leaf blowers and pluggers.
• Report to work dressed in proper uniform.
• Inspect and clean machinery after each use.
• Report machinery/equipment problems to supervisor.
• Drive golf carts, pick up trucks & tractor responsibly as directed & allowed by law.
• Load and unload materials.
• Trim trees and shrubs efficiently and remove cuttings.
• Weed flower beds, mow fairways, greens and roughs.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment as directed.
• Plant and maintain seasonal plantings.
• Collect and empty litter cans.
• Clean gutters, drains and culverts.
• Water plants.
• Cut grass, weeds and bushes.
• Rake leaves.
• Use proper safety equipment such as safety goggles and ear protection as directed by supervisor.
• Any additional jobs assigned by supervisor.

Minimum physical job requirements:

• Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Able to be on feet for four (4) to eight (8) hours a day.
• Able to tolerate temperature extremes and loud noise.
• Able to bend, stoop, lift and carry items on a regular and continuing basis.

Experience/requirements:

• No experience required.
• Reliable and responsible work ethic.
• Able to work in inclement weather.
• Able to effectively communicate using the English language.
