    This position is part of the Patient Experience Team and provides provides dedicated graphic and multimedia design support for digital and print materials. The incumbent is part of an in-house design lab for products, programs and processes that support system learning, improvement, and community within University of Utah Health Hospitals and Clinics. This position is not responsible for providing patient care.

    Corporate Overview: University of Utah Health is an integrated academic healthcare system with five hospitals including a level 1 trauma center, eleven community health centers, over 1,600 providers, and a health plan serving over 200,000 members. In addition to our clinical delivery system, we have a School of Medicine, School of Dentistry, College of Nursing, College of Pharmacy, and College of Health providing education and training for over 1,250 providers annually.     Responsibilities

    Essential Functions

    • Develops a wide range of digital and print graphics for programs, websites, and social media. This includes headers, body images, data visualizations, and supporting instructional design materials (handouts, presentation slides, signage, flyers, etc.).

    • Works alongside senior design colleagues and expanded team members to ensure that graphic and multimedia design needs are met through innovative, conceptual, and creative print and digital graphics for collateral across the organization.

    • Contributes insightful and skilled recommendations to collaboratively achieve brand-centric designs and design strategy.

    • Review designs for errors before printing or publishing.

    • Organize design files/folders.

    • Supports and assists with department-sponsored events, including providing in-person support and collateral creation.

    • Maintains awareness of current design industry standards and possesses the ability to confidently and professionally present and/or articulate ideas and concepts.

    • Supports other departmental functions, as required.

    Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

    • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job, as outlined above.

    • Exceptional collaborative design and communication skills, as well as a high degree of professionalism.

    • Understanding of project management systems and recording time.

    • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat).

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).

    • Highly organized; ability to coordinate multiple, deadline-driven tasks.

    • Ability to accept critique from multiple team members.

    • Advanced aesthetic skills with the ability to design complex and compelling solutions with attention to detail.

    • Able to collaborate with a team in a fast-paced environment.

    • Brings a positive attitude and willingness to help team members.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Associate's degree or equivalency.

    • Two years of professional graphic and multimedia experience.

    Qualifications (Preferred)

    Preferred

    • Knowledge in HTML and CSS.

    • Photo and editing skills.

    • Experience with Adobe Figma virtual co-design platform.

    • This is a sedentary position that may exert up to 10 pounds and may lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. This position involves sitting most of the time and is not exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
