YMCA Camp Carter is a beautiful 360-acre camp located right in the heart of Fort Worth, TX. Throughout the year, Camp Carter hosts school groups, corporate retreats, family camps, military groups, community organizations, and weekendrentals seeking meaningful and memorable outdoor experiences.

We are seeking energetic, service-minded, and dependable Guest Services Staff to help deliver exceptional hospitality for our groups and retreat guests. If you enjoy working with people, being outdoors, creating welcoming environments, and supporting mission-driven programs, this is the role for you!

Position Summary

Guest Services Staff play a vital role in the success of Camp Carter's groups and retreats program. This position supports event setup and teardown, light janitorial and facilities upkeep, customer service, basic activity support, and general guest coordination-ensuring every visitor enjoys a smooth, positive, and safe experience.

Essential Responsibilities

Hospitality & Guest Experience

  • Provide excellent customer service to all retreat guests, rental groups, and program participants.
  • Serve as a friendly point of contact for guest needs, offering clear communication and helpful support before, during, and after events.
Event Setup & Teardown
  • Assist with setup and breakdown for events, including arranging tables, chairs, AV equipment, program materials, and activity spaces.
  • Prepare meeting rooms, cabins, and program areas according to group needs and YMCA standards.
Facility & Grounds Support
  • Maintain clean, organized, and welcoming spaces across camp-including cabins, restrooms, meeting rooms, dining spaces, and common areas.
  • Perform light janitorial duties such as sweeping, mopping, trash removal, restroom refreshing, and general tidying between groups.
  • Assist with simple maintenance tasks as needed in coordination with the camp's Facilities team.
Program & Activity Assistance
  • Support camp activities for groups when needed (e.g., archery, team-building, outdoor skills, or recreation) - training provided.
Schedule & Work Environment
  • Part-time, variable schedule depending on retreat and rental bookings.
  • Expect evening, weekend, and occasional holiday shifts based on guest needs.
  • Outdoor environment with frequent walking, carrying, lifting, and hands-on tasks.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs., set up rooms, move equipment, and perform physical tasks.
  • Flexibility and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Hospitality, events, camp experience, or facilities support experience is helpful but not required-training provided.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Pay Rate: $11-$15 per hour, based on experience.
