With a proven reputation as a highly specialized contractor, we proudly serve the government entities and commercial clients across the greater San Antonio area.JOB SUMMARY:Capital is seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of trucks, trailers, and construction equipment. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-minded, and able to diagnose and repair equipment with minimal supervision while helping keep our fleet operating efficiently.RESPONSIBILITIES:Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, air brake systems, and drivetrains.Perform preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles and heavy equipment.Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair trucks, trailers, aerial equipment, excavators, skid steers, and other construction equipment.Complete DOT inspections and identify safety concerns.Perform engine, transmission, suspension, brake, steering, and hydraulic repairs.Use diagnostic software and scan tools to identify equipment issues.Maintain accurate repair records and work orders.Keep the shop clean, organized, and safe.Communicate repair status and equipment needs with management.Follow all company safety policies and procedures.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum of 2 years of experience as a heavy duty diesel mechanic.Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. CDL is a plus.Experience working on heavy trucks, trailers, and construction equipment.Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and air brake systems.Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in various weather conditions.Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.PREDERRED QUALIFICATIONS:ASE Medium/Heavy Truck Certification(s)DOT Brake Inspector CertificationHydraulic Systems Training or CertificationOEM certifications (Cummins, Caterpillar, John Deere, Kubota, Peterbilt, Kenworth, etc.) are a plusOSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification is preferredBENEFITS:Medical, Dental, and Vision insurancePaid Time Off & Holiday PayEligibility for ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) - This allows you to have shares and ownership in the company!401kHealth Savings Account for medical costsLife insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, and critical illness & hospitalization indemnity#J-18808-Ljbffr
