Slayden Constructors Inc. (SCI), a wholly owned subsidiary of MWH Constructors, Inc. (MWH) is currently seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator (Track Excavator) to support a critical wastewater treatment plant construction project in Medford, Oregon.

Essential Functions
Safe operation of excavator/backhoe/forklift.
May build level and excavate land surfaces using graders and other construction equipment.
Knowledge of the excavator/backhoe loading requirements; load charts; critical picks.
Perform duties with an awareness to avoid overloading, obstruction of equipment movement, working with overhead utilities, etc.
Effectively communicate to all site personnel.
Maintain daily logs of equipment usage, maintenance, etc.
Daily maintenance of equipment
Identify, report, and correct hazards.
Perform tasks maintaining all health, safety and environmental rules and ensure all work is done in a manner which enhances the safety of the work environment.
Basic Qualifications
1-3 years' experience as a heavy equipment operator.
Comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, load charts, and procedure manuals.
Working knowledge of equipment capabilities and limitations.
AWWA and/or large diameter/large bore piping.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Documentation must be provided at time of application.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Ability to understand technical instructions.
Knowledge of load-bearing capabilities of all equipment.
Good understanding of fluid mechanics and all of the components involved in these processes.
If requested, the applicant shall furnish a written statement from a medical doctor that he/she has had a physical examination in connection with the application, and is physically fit to perform the work.
Required to communicate information, ideas, directions with the capability to perform the task or project discussed.
Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory and with utmost regard for safety.
