    Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator
    Company: Strong Excavation
    Job Type: Full-Time

    Position Overview:

    As an Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy machinery used in construction and excavation projects. This includes, but is not limited to, dozers, loaders, front-end loaders, bobcats, backhoes, and scrapers. Your role is critical to ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, and to specification.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Operate heavy construction equipment to move, grade, and excavate earth.
    • Read and interpret construction plans, set lasers, and read elevations accurately.
    • Perform routine maintenance checks including pre-trip inspections, checking fluids (motor oil, steering fluid), greasing equipment, and minor troubleshooting such as jump-starting batteries and adjusting slack adjusters.
    • Identify and understand the capabilities and limitations of various types of heavy equipment.
    • Follow all safety protocols and company procedures.
    • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
    Requirements:
    • Minimum 4 years of experience operating heavy construction equipment.
    • Ability to read and interpret site plans and elevations.
    • Familiarity with laser levels and construction-grade measuring equipment.
    • Knowledge of equipment inspection and maintenance procedures.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions.
    • Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
    • Must pass a pre-employment drug test, and background check.
