HR Coordinator | Brooklyn, NY • $60,000-$80,000
About the Role This is an HR Coordinator role embedded in a compliance-driven, healthcare-adjacent environment where the details really matter. You'll be the operational backbone of the People and Culture Development department - keeping employee records airtight, managing compliance across DOH and HIPAA standards, and ensuring the day-to-day HR function runs without a hitch. Key Responsibilities
Administrative & Coordination
Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external communications including calls, emails, and correspondence
Coordinate meetings, appointments, and events to ensure optimal use of time and resources
Prepare reports, presentations, and agendas; maintain accurate records of meetings, decisions, and follow-up actions
Coordinate orientation and onboarding sessions for new employees
Records & Data Management
Organize and maintain employee documents and files in both physical and electronic formats
Input and update data into databases, spreadsheets, and HRIS platforms with high accuracy
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee data with the utmost professionalism and integrity
Compliance & Auditing
Audit and maintain personnel files to ensure compliance with federal, state, and company-specific requirements
Conduct routine internal audits in alignment with DOH, HIPAA, and internal HR regulations
Track and manage timely renewals of professional licenses, credentials, and mandatory staff trainings
Monitor compliance progress and report findings to the Manager of People and Culture Development
Support preparation for external audits and regulatory inspections
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure HR practices remain aligned with operational and compliance goals
Qualifications
Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field (Bachelor's preferred)
Minimum 2 years of HR experience, preferably in a healthcare or regulated industry
Strong working knowledge of HR compliance including HIPAA, DOH, and relevant federal/state regulations
Experience with HRIS platforms and digital document management systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Superior attention to detail with proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
