    Job Description

    Human Resources Generalist

    The Human Resources Generalist is a key member of the Human Resources team, responsible for supporting a wide range of HR functions within the entire employee lifecycle including talent acquisition initiatives, onboarding, offboarding, compliance programs, employee relations support, HR operations, and workforce partnerships.

    A major focus of this role will be to build on our strong employee experience, help sustain a positive and engaging workplace culture, and support workforce partnerships that strengthen aviation career pathways and long-term talent pipelines through thoughtful communications, engagement initiatives, recognition efforts, relationship-driven HR support, and external outreach.

    The ideal candidate is highly organized, service-oriented, creative, and comfortable working in both administrative HR functions and culture-focused initiatives.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Human Resources Operations & Administration

    • Assist with HR documentation, policies, and administrative processes with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality
    • Support HR reporting, audits, and compliance documentation
    • Provide general HR administrative support across all functions
    • Serve as a resource to employees and managers for routine HR inquiries
    • Support HR process improvement and special projects

    Employee Experience, Communications & Culture

    • Manage and maintain internal employee communication platforms, including private employee social channels
    • Create engaging employee communications highlighting culture, recognition, milestones, and events
    • Develop and publish the Company's quarterly employee newsletter
    • Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and culture-building activities
    • Assist with employee events and internal communications campaigns
    • Use creativity to strengthen employee connection and enhance overall employee experience

    Onboarding & Employee Experience Support

    • Prepare and distribute offer letters and onboarding documentation using electronic signature systems
    • Assist with background checks, employment verifications, and pre-employment screening activities
    • Support FAA and aviation-specific background investigation processes
    • Coordinate onboarding activities and ensure timely completion of new hire requirement
    • Support new hire orientation programs, serving as backup facilitator for non-pilot orientation and assisting more regularly with pilot orientation activities
    • Help ensure a positive, welcoming onboarding experience for new employees
    • Support employee retention and engagement initiatives

    Compliance & Regulatory Programs

    • Support compliance with all applicable federal, state, DOT, FAA, TSA, and company regulations
    • Assist with administration and recordkeeping requirements of DOT and FAA drug and alcohol testing programs
    • Support workplace safety and compliance efforts, including workers' compensation injury reporting, safety training tracking, documentation, and follow-up.
    • Assist with audits, reporting, and regulatory documentation requests
    • Maintain confidential records in accordance with regulatory requirements

    Employee Relations Support

    • Provide administrative support for employee relations matters as directed
    • Assist with documentation, follow-up, and HR leadership support as needed
    • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all employee interactions
    • Support initiatives that promote a respectful and positive workplace culture

    Workforce Partnerships & Development

    • Build and maintain relationships with aviation maintenance schools, colleges, universities, technical schools, military transition programs, military organizations, workforce development agencies, and community partners
    • Support veteran and military transition initiatives and aviation career awareness programs
    • Assist with internship, apprenticeship, and workforce development programs, as necessary
    • Help develop long-term talent pipelines for aviation maintenance, flight operations, and other critical roles
    • Collaborate with HR and operational leaders to support future workforce needs and outreach strategies
    • Support recruiting-related coordination including scheduling interviews, candidate communication, and hiring logistics

    Additional Responsibilities

    • Provide backup support to HR team members as needed
    • Participate in HR projects and company initiatives
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Education & Experience

    • 2-5 years of proven experience in HR operations or a specialized HR discipline required
    • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, or a related field preferred; SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred
    • Experience in aviation, transportation, or other regulated industries is a plus

    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
    • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems/tools (ADP Workforce Now experience preferred)
    • Creative mindset with interest in communications, engagement, and storytelling
    • Strong presentation and public speaking skills, with the ability to engage employees, candidates, students, and external partners
    • Comfortable building relationships with internal employees and external partners
