Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented person who will serve as a dual-office assistant
to support the day-to-day operations of both the Human Resources Department and County Legal
Department. This position requires excellent multitasking and organizational skills, high-level
of integrity, and the ability to work under pressure and to manage sensitive and confidential
information with the utmost professionalism. The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable, and
comfortable working in a fast-paced work environment.
Examples of Duties

Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including preparation of new hire
paperwork, orientation scheduling, and exit documentation.

Maintain employee records and ensure accurate and timely data entry into HRIS systems.

Assist in planning and executing employee engagement activities, trainings, and internal
communications.

Help manage employee benefits administration and respond to general HR inquiries.

Prepare HR-related documents and reports as requested.

Conduct limited research on legal precedents, statutes, and regulations to assist the county
attorney.

Draft some letters and proofread legal documents.

Prepare and file legal documents with the court, ensuring compliance with local rules and
deadlines.

Assist in organizing exhibits and preparing trial binders for court appearances.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of administrative support experience; experience in both HR and legal
settings is highly desirable.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Google
Workspace, and common HR/legal management systems.
Understanding of how to electronically file legal documents in MyCase and Pacer.
Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a hybrid work environment.
Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively while
maintaining accuracy.
Supplemental Information

Work Environment:
Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental
conditions.

Standard office environment with occasional need to attend meetings or trainings.

May involve sitting for extended periods and occasional lifting of office supplies or file boxes
(up to 25 lbs).

Physical Demands:

Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve
some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds).
Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
