Position Overview:The HR Operations Specialist is a hands-on HR professional responsible for the day-to-day administration of payroll, benefits, leave management, retirement programs, HR compliance, and employee records. This role serves as a trusted resource for employees and leaders, ensuring efficient HR operations, compliance with employment regulations, and a positive employee experience. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, process-driven, and passionate about building and improving HR systems and procedures.
Worksite Location:Minneapolis, MN.
Salary:$75,000 - $85,000 base salary

Roles & Responsibilities:- Own and administer end-to-end payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain employee data within the HRIS, including new hires, terminations, job changes, and compensation updates.
- Serve as the primary HRIS administrator and troubleshoot system-related issues.
- Partner with Accounting on payroll reconciliations, audits, and reporting.
- Administer employee benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, and ancillary benefits.
- Support annual open enrollment and ongoing employee benefit enrollment changes and inquiries.
- Coordinate with brokers, carriers, and vendors to resolve eligibility and billing issues.
- Administer employee leave programs, accommodations, return-to-work processes, and leave-related communications.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local leave regulations and maintain accurate leave records.
- Manage administration of retirement programs, including employee enrollments, contributions, loans, distributions, compliance testing, and audits.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, including FLSA, ACA, COBRA, and multi-state requirements.
- Maintain employee records, I-9 documentation, E-Verify compliance, and records retention processes.
- Serve as primary HR contact for employee questions related to payroll, benefits, and HR operations.
- Partner with HR leadership on process improvements, system enhancements, and special projects.
Required Skills & Experience:- Strong experience in payroll, benefits administration, leave administration, and retirement plan administration.
- 7+ years of experience in HR
- Experience with HRIS platforms; Paylocity experience preferred.
- Knowledge of U.S. employment laws and multi-state compliance requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong technical aptitude.
- High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Collaborative, customer service-oriented approach with the ability to build strong working relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements.
