    Job Description

    Human Resources Coordinator

    The Human Resources Coordinator performs administrative tasks and services to support the effective and efficient operations of the District's Human Resources department. The successful candidate/team member must possess exceptional communication skills, be courteous, professional, self-motivated, and have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

    Education & Experience:

    • High school diploma or relevant qualification (minimum)
    • Prior related office experience preferred
    • Motivated to continuously learn and develop industry-related skills and certifications (required)
    • Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g., phone systems, fax machines, fingerprinting, and printers)

    • Communication & Customer Service
    • Transportation Clearance Coordination

    Compensation & Benefits:

    Salary range based on experience: $80,000 - $95,000 12-month position (260 paid days); start date ASAP through June 30, 2027 Number of Paid Hours (annual): 2,015 Number of Paid Work Hours per day: 7.75 Paid Time Off 10 days paid vacation 17 paid holidays 14 sick days Health & Welfare Benefits Medical and dental insurance Paid term life insurance policy equal to annual base salary Retirement Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) pension employees vested after 10 years of employment

    Language, Mathematical, and Reasoning Skills:

    Communicates clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with applicants, employees, and District departments, managing sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy. Maintains a high level of integrity and trustworthiness in handling privileged HR information. Interprets HR policies, background check determinations, and compliance requirements accurately. Exercises strong organizational judgment to manage multiple deadlines, audits, and administrative priorities in a fast-paced environment. Uses intermediate computer proficiency (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite, social media/recruiting platforms, HRIS, and payroll systems) to support HR operations.

    Contacts Outside Own Department:

    Applicants and employees, the Business Office, Student Services, school building staff, transportation providers, the Illinois Secretary of State, and third parties requesting employment verification.

    Physical and Mental Demands:

    Work is performed in an office setting with extended periods of time sitting and/or standing Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis Must be able to lift 20-25 pounds unassisted

    Working Conditions:

    Ability to accept work interruptions in a considerate, helpful manner Communication may not always be cooperative in nature and requires tact and discretion Standard schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.; occasionally, program necessity requires working hours beyond set hours and days Safety As part of the District workforce, this role is responsible for being aware of, modeling, and contributing to the maintenance and implementation of all District safety policies and procedures. The role positively contributes to the safety, well-being, and work output of students and staff. The employee is required to: Use good safety awareness and judgment Follow District policies and procedures Report potentially unsafe conditions Follow manufacturer safety instructions when using equipment Follow District ergonomic policies and procedures
