Position Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist will provide HR support to management and associates of The Lewis Group in a highly professional, confidential and customer-first manner. In this role, you will provide guidance and support to business leaders and promote positive associate relations including; Talent management and onboarding new associates; ensuring compliance with Federal and State regulations; coaching managers and associates; conducting associate investigations; and supporting the overall employee lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment activities for exempt and non-exempt positions across multiple departments and locations.
  • Partner with hiring managers to develop job descriptions, identify required competencies, establish selection criteria, and create effective hiring strategies.
  • Conduct resume reviews, phone screens, and preliminary candidate assessments to evaluate qualifications, experience, and cultural alignment.
  • Track and report recruiting metrics, including time-to-fill, time-to-hire, source-of-hire, quality-of-hire, offer acceptance rate, and hiring manager satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant candidate records within Paylocity's Recruiting module and related recruiting systems.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, EEO guidelines, and company policies throughout the recruitment lifecycle.
  • Prepare employment offers and coordinate background checks, drug screenings, and other pre-employment activities.
  • Run new hire orientation sessions and work with HR leadership to improve these processes
  • In partnership with HR leadership, develop, implement, and maintain a structured behavioral-based interviewing framework to drive consistency across all locations and business units.
Employer Branding & Talent Community Development
  • Partner with Marketing and HR leadership to strengthen and promote the company's employer brand across recruiting platforms and social media channels.
  • Represent the organization at career fairs, networking events, industry conferences, and community outreach initiatives.
  • Partner with HR leadership to build and maintain relationships with colleges, universities, trade schools, workforce development organizations, and other talent partners.
  • Promote the organization's culture, career opportunities, and employee value proposition to attract high-quality candidates.
Promote a positive employee relations culture:
  • Builds relationships with associates at all levels and serves as the first point of contact for associate relations issues and questions.
  • Provide frontline support to an employee base of English and Spanish speaking employees
  • Counsels and advises associates and managers regarding people, policies, and associate issues.
  • Assists in managing and resolving associate relations issues.
  • Conducts thorough and complete workplace investigations and makes recommendations to management.
Guarantee adherence to Federal, State, and Local requirements:
  • Assist with the administration of HR policies and procedures following stated business objectives and federal, state, and local legal requirements.
  • Provide ongoing information and training resources for managers and associates
  • Perform administrative duties associated with human resource compliance including the support of policy/handbook updates, maintaining associate files and documents, reporting, benefits inquiries, and auditing accuracy of personnel data.
  • Other tasks and projects as assigned
Travel: This position will require occasional travel to other company locations.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of HR experience, preferably in an industrial, construction, manufacturing, or field-based environments
  • Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred
  • Experience with HRIS systems
  • High level of work capacity and ability to work independently at a high pace.
  • Working knowledge of employment law and employee relations best practices
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR) or desire to obtain is highly preferred

$65,000 to $80,000 per year
