Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.The Inventory Specialist will be responsible for managing material offload, staging, receipt, stow, storage compliance, picking, packing, sorting, delivery, scrap, and cycle count activities for development projects, engineering teams, and production line side fulfillment.ResponsibilitiesReceive, store and issue raw material, parts, details and hardware to support shop operationsStore parts and materials in bins, drawers, and racks, identifying part and stored locationPerform picking function to make up necessary kits of parts, material and hardware as required, ascertaining that all parts are available and accounted for in kitMaintain strict material handling practices in accordance with proceduresMonitor shelf‑life storage and maintain proper rotation of stockVerify all material received for conformity with accompanying paperwork, checking for damage, correct part numbers, quantity and revisionsIssue material against approved paperwork such as affixing verification and traceability on required serialized parts before issuingPerform cycle countsPerform standard housekeeping chores in areaSupport the organization's metric goals and objectivesAbide by all procedures, desk instructions and standard operating documentsBasic QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalency certificate1+ years of inventory control experiencePreferred Skills and Experience3+ years of inventory control experience in a warehouseExperience and understanding of inventory and kitting processesExperience operating a forklift and other related inventory equipmentExperience within the aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, or electronic fieldsAdditional RequirementsCandidate must be available for one of the following shifts and for overtime, all shifts, and weekend work:First Shift: 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Monday – Friday)Second Shift: 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM (Monday – Friday)Candidate must be capable of safely working at heights (up to 500 ft), in confined spaces, using an air purifying respirator, and performing the physical requirements of the job. Physical requirements are:Lift / Carry: Up to 50 lbs unassisted for 2 hours or longer per dayPush / Pull: Up to 75 lbs unassisted for 2 hours or longer per dayStanding: Up to 10 hours per daySitting: Up to 3 hours per dayWalking: Up to 6 hours per dayClimb (ladder / stairs): Up to 1 hour per dayKneel / Crouch: Up to 1 hour per dayUpper body twist: Up to 6 hours per dayOverhead reach: Up to 1 hour per dayAbility to work in temperatures over 80°F: up to 1-hour periodsAbility to work in temperatures below -10°F: up to 15-minute periodsTo conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (green‑card holder), refugee, or asylee, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.Compensation and BenefitsPay range:Inventory Specialist / Level 1: $22.00 – $24.50 per hourInventory Specialist / Level 2: $24.50 – $27.00 per hourInventory Specialist / Level 3: $26.00 – $32.50 per hourBase salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
