
Division: SolutionsJob Posting Title: Inventory Supervisor ( 1st Shift: Mon‑Fri‑6:00 AM -2:30 PM)Time Type: Full TimePosition SummaryThe Inventory Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a perpetual record integrity to ensure inventory accuracy within the facility while maximizing space utilization. The supervisor monitors inventory levels, product movement, controls or isolates non‑conforming product as defined by local and work instructions, and ensures a conforming product mix that facilitates efficient order fulfillment. The Inventory Manager oversees the functions performed by inventory associates and other such staff.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInput data accurately into WMS.Efficiently stack and store product in the appropriate area.Maintain and enhance client relationships.Develop and implement a space utilization plan to meet cost and service standards.Develop and monitor the space layout plan to ensure it continues to meet company standards.Implement an effective product locator system and update as necessary.Delegate work and responsibility to subordinates.Oversee scheduled shifts and evaluate the performance of inventory staff.Analyze daily cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical counts and perpetual records.Analyze directed cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical counts and perpetual records.Audit the daily error report and make corrections as necessary.Analyze and publish monthly data from WMS reports indicating monthly and year‑to‑date totals of cycle count dollar variances.Analyze stock change in/outs transactions on material for validity to the product structure.Analyze miscellaneous receipts and issues and take corrective action as appropriate.Act as the distribution leader for Physical Inventory.Gain complete knowledge of the online Inventory Audit Trail to facilitate any research toward corrective action.Drive process improvements and prepare monthly reports signifying major problems and updates on projects or assignments.Perform other duties as assigned (e.g., in‑transit report, shipping adjustments).Assist with associate relations and training.Audit warehouse daily for compliance with safety, security, and quality principles and rules; maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area; promote safety among the work crew.Transmit e‑mails to DSV representatives and clients when required; write corrective/preventive actions, complete reports for operations manager, follow up with attendance reports, write counseling memos, and perform evaluations; all communications must be accurate and professional.Conduct daily startup meetings; encourage associates to provide feedback, work as a team, and help with their development; coordinate operations with the manager to ensure completion of daily objectives; report and discuss any internal or external issues that involve the operation.Provide good communication and motivational techniques and ensure all company rules are followed; provide management with information regarding labor/equipment needs to meet customer demands; develop team leaders and ensure that associate expectations are being met.Other Duties (Site Specific)Assist management as needed.Work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends, as required by the operation.Participate in established cross‑training matrix activities to improve knowledge in multiple areas/departments and act as a backup associate when needed.Work overtime as dictated by business, either mandatory or voluntary.Perform other duties as assigned.Minimum Required QualificationsEducation and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED).Inventory experience.Four years of distribution/logistics experience.Two years of experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment in a supervisory role.Ability to operate material handling equipment (MHE).Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during the warmer and colder months, ranging from mild to moderate.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional DesignationsSatisfactory completion of a forklift training program.Skills, Knowledge, and AbilitiesComputer SkillsProficient use of warehouse management systems (WMS) and related software.Language SkillsEnglish (reading, writing, verbal).Mathematical SkillsBasic to intermediate level to verify quantities of product, count inventory, or perform other duties associated with handling, storing, and distributing client products.OtherTrained and/or certified in common inventory management methodologies and tools such as Six‑Sigma and Lean.Ability to develop and sustain effective and energized working relationships with leaders to influence and align people at all levels.Demonstrated ability to teach, coach, mentor, and support project team members to learn and master continuous improvement concepts and skills in an indirect supervisory relationship.Assist in maintaining a safe, clean, and secure working environment.Develop a positive rapport and maintain strong working relations with every level in the organization, including all internal and external customers.Interface skills and the ability to maintain a high level of professionalism with customers, vendors, management team members, and hourly associates.Strong planning, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.Analytical and results‑oriented.Excellent communication skills both verbally and written, and ability to facilitate both small and large groups in a variety of forums.Ability to develop staff through example, training, delegation, mentoring, and empowering associates at all levels.Foster continuous improvement.“Can‑do” attitude with a sense of urgency and dedication to the success of the overall business mission.Preferred QualificationsCollege degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, and Operations or equivalent.Three or more years in a third‑party logistics (3PL) environment.Current or prior MHE certification.Ability to operate electric pallet jack and dock loader when needed.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesPartner with the leadership team to communicate policies and procedures.Responsible for the inventory leads, associates, and customer service representatives within the department.Ensure training and development for associates on product placement and equipment usage.Expected Pay RangeThe base pay range for this position is $72,000.00 – $80,000.00.
