    Description

    Community Health Network of Connecticut, Inc. (CHNCT) is currently seeking a IS Senior Reporting Specialist for the Rural Health Transformation (RHT) Program.

    The Rural Health Transformation (RHT) Program is a federal grant that empowers states to strengthen rural communities across America by improving healthcare access, quality, and outcomes by transforming the healthcare delivery ecosystem.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • The IS Senior Reporting Specialist (SRS) is responsible for developing and maintaining critical business intelligence (BI) and reporting solutions that support the information systems needs of internal and external CHNCT customers.
    • The SRS will meet with staff inside and outside of CHNCT to determine data and reporting requirements from any of our core systems including the data warehouse and other applications.
    • The SRS is responsible for developing and ensuring quality and completeness of reports, applications, and dashboards as required by CHNCT staff and other external agencies.
    • The SRS should be skilled in the usage of various database development and business intelligence technologies such as SQL Server (t-SQL), Power BI, Qlik Sense, and Tableau.
    Tasks Performed:
    • Interacts with both internal and external customers on designing and implementing solutions to enhance data delivery that betters the health care provided to our members.
    • Communicates to the Director of Business Systems and Data Services the status of projects and participates in the training of end users on new or modified reporting solutions.
    • Works with IS technical staff and management to define data requirements for management information reporting. This will involve meeting with users to understand problems, issues and requirements.
    • Helps to develop specifications and presents to the end user for accuracy prior to development.
    • Makes available all existing catalogued reports for CHNCT managers of other departments.
    • Remains technically current with latest BI development tools such as Qlik, Power BI, and Tableau.
    Essential Functions:
    • Responsible for the full life cycle of BI development including requirement analysis, data analysis, programming, testing, and documentation.
    • Responsible for submission of reports and meeting DSS, affiliated and auditing organizations timelines and data quality standards.
    • Responsible for supporting company wide data initiatives.

    Desired Education: Four years post-secondary schooling

    Desired Degree: Bachelor's Degree

    Desired Major: Information Systems

    Desired Job Experience: Experience in analyzing, designing, and building advanced analytical solutions that relate to Medical Management and Quality Improvement initiatives. Demonstrated expertise in building enterprise level BI solutions in the healthcare arena. Strong experience in healthcare data manipulation, analysis, and reporting. Able to produce easy to interpret data visualizations for dashboards, etc. Experience with predictive and prescriptive analytics desired. Experience with Microsoft and Qlik technologies a plus.

    Other Qualifications: Technical experience in developing complex BI applications to support a production environment. Familiar with various BI technologies such as Microsoft and Qlik. Familiar with standard life cycle of BI development with emphasis on thorough testing (QA) techniques and effective documentation of programs implemented into production. Solid understanding of healthcare including patient encounter and claims processing terminology (ICD 10, CPT 4, HCPCS, etc.).
