Walker Engineering is currently taking applications for a Licensed Journeyman Electricians in the Austin Area. If you are an experienced Electrical Journeyman and meet and or and exceed the requirements below, we would like to talk with you!
A Journeyman Electrician will work under the guidance of a Foreman or Superintendent in installations, alterations, additions, and/or repair of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment on any type project. A Journeyman may be required to perform any of the duties and responsibilities associated with classifications of an E-5 and below. Applicants must be willing to work Night Shift and Overtime as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lays out work and preps materials for installation.
Performs underground layout and rough-in.
Determines wire and conduit sizing.
Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit using measuring devices, hand tools, threaders and hand or mechanical benders.
Installs BUSS feeders.
Performs switchgear installation and terminations.
Installs and connects power supply wiring, cables, conduit, and electrical apparatus in new and existing facilities following diagrams, schematics, or blueprints.
Troubleshoots and resolves problems in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment.
Operates any hand tools and equipment necessary to perform all associated tasks.
Performs other project related duties and assignments as instructed by supervisor.
Meets attendance standards and complies with late/absence notification procedures.
Position Requirements:
Hold a current Journeyman's (TDLR) License.
Minimum 5+ years commercial experience.
Have proven leadership skills and an effective communicator
Understands production & material management
Are skilled in the tools and installation methods used in commercial construction
OSHA30 a plus
Understand the importance of JHA's
Requires basic mechanical aptitude, mathematical and English language skills
MUST understand basic electrical theory and its application to installations
Must be able to work occasional overtime if required
Have reliable transportation
Education Requirements:
High School Graduate, GED or equivalent.
