Job Summary
Okemos High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to lead the Junior Varsity Boys Water Polo team as the Head Coach for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of water polo, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and competitive environment for student-athletes. This seasonal position offers the opportunity to mentor young athletes, develop their skills, and promote teamwork and sportsmanship.

Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct daily practices, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and game strategies.
- Organize and oversee all aspects of the JV Boys Water Polo program, including scheduling practices and competitions.
- Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, respect, and personal growth.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team expectations, schedules, and progress.
- Monitor and evaluate athlete performance and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
- Collaborate with the Varsity coaching staff to align training and competition strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all school and league policies and regulations.
- Coordinate team fundraising activities and community outreach initiatives.
- Maintain equipment and facilities to ensure a safe and effective training environment.
- Attend coaching clinics and workshops to stay updated on the latest techniques and strategies in water polo.

Requirements
- Previous coaching experience in water polo or a related sport, preferably at the high school level.
- Strong knowledge of water polo rules, strategies, and training techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with coaching staff, athletes, and parents.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain prior to the season.
- Must pass a background check and comply with school district policies.
- A passion for promoting the values of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship among student-athletes.
