Our customers are our communities, and when they need us, we are there.We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Fleet Mechanic to oversee our fleet maintenance while supporting our rapid response and restoration services. The Lead Fleet Mechanic will play a critical role in the upkept and readiness of our fleet of vehicles, equipment, and assets to ensure optimal performance, safety, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial vehicle maintenance and maintenance schedules.Responsibilities:Fleet Maintenance:Regularly review preventative maintenance schedules and ensure all vehicles are being maintained according to scheduleDiagnoses minor mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicableAddresses all identified maintenance needs in an efficient manner while ensuring compliance with maintenance reporting requirementsOversees and leads the emergency response maintenance and repairs as neededAsset Availability & Utilization:Ensure repairs are efficiently addressed to maintain asset availability for projects, jobs, and emergency responses.Analyze asset data to identify opportunities for optimization, including right-sizing the fleet, improving asset utilization, and minimizing downtimeAssist in developing preventive maintenance schedules and programs to extend the lifespan of fleet assets and reduce maintenance costsEquipment Safety and Compliance:Assist in enforcing safety policies and procedures to ensure the safe operation of fleet vehicles and equipmentParticipate in regular safety training and inspections, addressing any safety concerns or violations promptlyAssist in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, including vehicle inspections, emissions testing, and driver licensingEmergency Response Support:Assist in deploying fleet assets and personnel rapidly in response to emergencies and power outagesAssist to ensure the readiness and availability of fleet resources during emergency situationsOversees and efficiently utilizes emergency mechanical support to ensure any mechanical opportunities are effectively addressed.Qualifications:Certifications in commercial fleet maintenance, as well as a minimum of 5 years proven fleet maintenance experience.Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance schedules, hands-on experience in diesel engine and/or heavy vehicle maintenance, diagnosis, repair, and safety complianceExcellent communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentCDL PreferredJoin our team and play a key role in supporting our mission to provide reliable and effective rapid response and restoration services to utility companies.
