About the Role
The Rhode Island Department of Health is seeking a detail-oriented Licensing Aid to support the Center for Healthy Homes and Environments. This position provides administrative, data entry, licensing, and customer service support while assisting with licensing records, rental registry activities, complaint processing, and public inquiries.
Key Responsibilities
Enter and maintain licensing, lead certificate, and rental registry data
Process registrations, applications, fees, and invoices
Respond to public inquiries via phone, email, mail, and in person
Maintain physical and electronic records
Assist with complaint processing and regulatory correspondence
Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and other documentation
Support licensing examinations and related administrative activities
Provide excellent customer service to applicants, licensees, and the public
Required Qualifications
Administrative, clerical, or office support experience
Strong data entry and recordkeeping skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a high-volume office environment
Experience with licensing, permitting, registrations, or regulatory processes
Experience with database systems or specialized software
Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply
