Pool Lifeguard Primary responsibility is to ensure the safety of patrons by preventing emergencies at Pool. Must be able to respond effectively to emergencies when they occur. Provides high quality customer service to residents in a positive and professional manner.Examples Of Duties Demonstrate "Pro-Active Lifeguarding".Thorough knowledge and applications of surveillance and rescue techniques.Recognize and have fast and effective response to emergencies.Enforce all facility policies, rules and regulations in a fair, consistent, and professional manner.Inspect facility on a daily basis and report any unsafe conditions to supervisor.Complete records and reports promptly when required to do so.Maintain readiness to perform rescues: (physical fitness, proper sleep, hydration, etc.)Conduct chemical checks when requested to do so.Participate in "in-service" training.Protect yourself by using sun screen, sun glasses & protective clothing & Equipment.Leadership and Public Relations SkillsGood decision-making skillsOther duties as assigned.Typical Qualifications EDUCATIONCurrent Certification in American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR/AED and First Aid.EXPERIENCEMust be at least 15 years of ageAbility to swim 300 yards non-stop using a combo of front crawl and breast strokeAbility to tread water for two minutes using only kick for supportShow proficiency in a simulated active and passive victim rescueProficiency in First Aid and CPR / AED skillsAcceptable skill with in-line stabilization and back-boardingAbility to Recover 10 lb rubber brick from 12' of water and then swim it twenty yards in under 120 seconds
